About Berlin Mitte
Berlin Mitte is the central district of Berlin,
Germany. It includes the historic area of the city and
most of the main tourist sites of Berlin. It comprises
of six localities: Mitte, Tiergarten, Moanit, Wedding,
Hansaviertel and Gusunbrunnen. These former boroughs
were joined in 2001 under the name of the Mitte
district.
The area is divided into two by the river Spree, in the
middle of which lies the Berlin Cathedral and Museum
Island that includes many museums – some of the
touristic sites you must visit in Berlin. The WWII left
its mark on the city, so you can find almost anything to
visit related to it: museums, monuments, and historical
sites. There are even guided tours on the underground
